Use the right starting reference

For a dining table, Kichler’s reference suggests one-third to one-half of the table length. For a kitchen island, Palecek’s reference suggests about two-thirds of the island length. These are different design starting points, not guaranteed fits.

How long should the fixture be?

For a 72 in dining table, compare 24–36 in lengths using Kichler’s one-third to one-half reference. For a 96 in island, Palecek’s two-thirds reference gives about 64 in. Compare the full width and appearance before choosing.

How do I check the space around it?

For a centered fixture, each end space is (surface length − fixture length) ÷ 2; each side space is (surface width − fixture width) ÷ 2. These measure the tabletop outline, not installation clearance.

How high should I hang it?

A 30–36 in gap above a dining table or counter is a common starting design range. Check views, the complete ceiling-to-bottom drop and the chosen model’s installation requirements.

Can I use it with a dimmer?

Check the exact lighting option and compatible control. Do not assume every LED or bulb-based fixture works with your existing dimmer.

What should I confirm before ordering?

Confirm full dimensions, mounting and suspension locations, adjustable drop range and the selected lighting option. Ask for a dimension drawing if the listing is incomplete.
